Trent Machut
Trent Machut has a Bachelor of Music in Recording Technology from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, with an emphasis in classical guitar. He has been playing guitar and drums for over 15 years, and has been teaching since 2009. Trent has performed and recorded with rock, punk, and blues bands as both a drummer and guitarist, and currently enjoys working on independent projects. Trent currently teaches Guitar, Bass, and Drumset, and also has experience with Piano, and Ukulele.
Trent started teaching guitar lessons at the YMCA in Appleton Wisconsin in 2009. He then moved to Central Wisconsin where he taught with a music store called October Guitars in Schofield, Wisconsin. After the store closed in 2011, Trent started his own lesson studio located in the Schofield Professional Center. When Trent's wife graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, they moved back to Northeastern Wisconsin where Trent taught drums and guitar with Mad About Music, a music store in Manitowoc for over 7 years. He opened his own private lesson studio, Machut Music, in Sheboygan in 2012, where he currently teaches.
Colleen Machut
Colleen is a certified teacher with five years of teaching experience in the Sheboygan Area School District as a Drama and Social Studies Teacher. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with minors in Music and Drama. Colleen is a classical vocalist as well as a guitarist, pianist, and clawhammer banjo-player. She won first place in 2014 and 2015 in the adult voice scholarship competitions through the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music in Milwaukee.
Colleen has been a performer for many years. She has performed as a vocalist with the Manitowoc Lakeshore Wind Ensemble, the Lakeshore Big Band, and on numerous area recitals and concerts. Colleen has been seen in lead roles such as "Nancy" in Oliver, and "Lola" in Copacabana at the Capitol Civic Centre. In 2011, Colleen founded The Huzzah Theatre Troupe with several other local artists. The troupe creates and performs original musical and theatrical productions based on the stories of local residents. They also collaborate with community organizations to provide theatre and arts programming. Colleen and Trent write original songs and music for the troupe.
